Conversations from Main Street

The rise in GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender) bullying and harassment and the resulting tragic suicides committed by young people across the country inspired this important night at Landmark.

On Thursday, February 17 at 7 PM, Landmark on Main Street's Conversation From Main Street Series is proud to partner with Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth (LIGALY), the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County for a special screening of the Teaching Tolerance documentary Bullied: A Student, a School and a Case that Made History and panel discussion.

Bullied tells the story of Jamie Nabozny, a gay youth who was tormented relentlessly throughout middle and high school and what he did to take a stand for school safety. The panel discussion will cover school safety among other topics relevant to the Long Island community.

This event is open to all members of the Long Island community and is presented free of charge thanks to generous support from the Angela & Scott Jaggar Foundation. Tickets are not necessary. RSVP to the event on Facebook to receive updates.
