LIVE@PWPL: Back by popular demand! John Ford of the Strawbs returns to Port Washington Public Library, Friday October 15, 2010 at 7:30 PM for a Classic British Rock Concert in the Latham Meeting Room. John Ford and his group were given a standing ovation when they performed there in March 2010 and appeared as a Special Guest for Ian Lloyd's Stories who performed at the library in July. This time around with five piece band, Ford plans for an exciting and diverse performance with new material in store for the audience – young and old alike!
As a British-born musician, John Ford's talent has made an enduring impact in music through the years, world-wide. His versatile live performance easily shifts from solo acoustic to fronting a full electric band. Ford has played, toured and shared the bill with other music legends such as Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Dave Mason, The Eagles, Frank Zappa, Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Lloyd, Marc Bolan, T. Rex, Blue Oyster Cult and ZZ Top, among others. He has recorded many CDs, with and without The Strawbs.
If you haven't yet been to a PWPL concert, don't miss this opportunity to enjoy the excellent sound and acoustics in the auditorium – you will be nothing less than totally delighted! It's one of Long Island's best kept secrets!
