National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

In coordination with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, the Police District will be taking part in National Prescription Drug take back day, this initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue.

The purpose of this event is to provide a venue for people who want to dispose of unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs. Each day, 2500 teens use prescription drugs to get high for the first time. The majority of these drugs are obtained from family and friends as well as the home medicine cabinet. Last year the public turned in over 121 tons of pills and other prescription drugs.

So please, if you have any prescription drugs that you wish to dispose of, come to Port Washington Police Headquarters at 500 Port Washington Boulevard between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 30.

There will be no questions asked and you will remain anonymous. Stay safe.
