North Shore Kayak Club Clinic

The North Shore Kayak Club (formerly the Twin Pines Kayak Club), will run a kayaking clinic specifically targeted to beginning and novice recreational kayakers.  It will be held on Thursday, May 26th, 7:00 PM, at the Town Dock in Port Washington.  If the Town’s floating kayak docks are installed by that date, then the clinic will take place at the kayak docks (to the left of the fishing pier when facing the water).  If the docks have not yet been installed, the clinic will be held at Crescent Beach, which is located between the Town Dock parking lot and Louie’s Restaurant (access via the stairwell adjacent to Louie’s).

Among the items to be addressed at the clinic are:  the different types of basic equipment, including kayak and paddle options; the proper way to enter and exit a kayak; basic paddling strokes; how to use your body on the water; and necessary safety equipment and precautions.  As this will be a demonstration and lecture, it is not necessary to bring any equipment.  There is no charge for this event.

The North Shore Kayak Club is a not-for-profit group of local, recreational kayaking enthusiasts.  Its members are dedicated to enjoying our beautiful, local waterways and the camaraderie of paddling together.
