Sandwiched In Lecture: Queens of the Blues

SANDWICHED IN: Queens of the Blues. Pianist and vocalist Gail Storm presents a study of the classic female blues singers of the 1920s and 1930s, including Bessie Smith, Sippie Wallace, Ida Cox and Alberta Hunter. Through lecture, live performance and recordings, Ms. Storm will explore the genre as a musical and expressive form and will link these legends to modern day artists.
