Shop Early for the Holidays and Save At the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society’s Holiday Fair

The shopping season is fast upon us, and we're all searching for good bargains. The Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society will hold its yearly Holiday Fair on Saturday, November 20, 2010, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and there will be bargains aplenty for the savvy shopper. Admission to the Holiday Fair is free.
Our craft group has been busy, making eye-catching holiday ornaments, gifts, boutique items and beautiful doll dresses, all for sale at affordable prices. Our jewelry restorers have applied their talents to reconditioning old necklaces, pins, earrings, rings and bracelets for resale. Our antique booth will be open, stocked with the rare and the unusual, just waiting for the discerning buyer. And, our ever popular Basement Treasures is full of interesting household items, used but in good condition, at prices that will endear themselves to the truly thrifty bargain hunter.
If you're hungry, the dining room will open at 12 noon again this year for your convenience. The Society's signature pumpkin soup, along with a tempting array of other edibles will be available to satisfy that inner craving for something good to eat.

And what could be more fun than poking around the Sands-Willets House? Built by the Sands family before the American Revolution with the later Willets addition built in about 1846, you can move from Victorian to pre-Revolutionary times with just a few steps. Historical publications will be on sale, and you can see the many improvements the society has made to its headquarters since last year's fair.
And best of all, the money raised at the Holiday Fair helps the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society to keep history alive by raising funds to maintain both the Sands-Willets (ca. 1735) and the Thomas Dodge House (ca. 1721) and support our educational programming.
