The Fabric of Port Washington
Residents Forward is proud to inspire others through its efforts. Annette Jaffe was inspired to recycle very creatively.
When Annette Jaffe received the invitation to this year’s Residents Forward gala, she was drawn to the event theme, “Celebrating the Fabric of Port Washington.” A 25+ year Port resident, Jaffe runs Annette Jaffe Interiors (AJI), which provides quality interior design services to residential, commercial and hospitality clients. Given AJI’s involvement with so many beautifully woven fabrics, Annette reached out to Residents Forward, offering to create one-of-a-kind tote bags to help celebrate the fabric of Port Washington in a literal way by using actual fabrics.
The reversible and eco-friendly bags were handmade using remnants pieces of gorgeous material that was donated by top fabric houses. Annette not only created these beautiful bags, but also found a new life for beautiful fabric that would have otherwise ended up in a garbage dump.
AJI donated the bags in appreciation of all the joy Residents Forward has brought to Annette, her daughters and her AJI Family. “The work of Residents Forward is so important to me, my family and my community,” Annette Jaffe said. “I am very grateful to participate in some small way.”
