This Father's Day as we remember with pride the selfless sacrifices our fathers have made for us, let us take a moment to remember in particular three fathers whose dedication to duty caused them to make the supreme sacrifice in service to New York City as members of the FDNY on Father's Day 2001. Harry Ford, 50, Rescue 4, John Downing,40, Ladder 163 and Brian Fahey,46,Rescue 4, were trapped after an explosion occurred during fire operations at a hardware store in Astoria. The three courageous firefighters left behind a total of eight children. These men epitomized the the values of dedication to family, service to others, courage and strength in their daily lives. They served as examples of sacrifice in how they died. True fathers indeed - for all of us.
