Floats, Music, Singing And Smiles: Pride In Port 2019 (PHOTOS)

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — The 2019 Pride in Port event is over and if you missed it, you missed out. It was a day of parades, American flags, vikings, cheering, and more.

While the schools were well represented — some even building impressive floats for the occasion —the Friends of the Port Washington Public Library marched in the parade, as well as the Port Washington Fire Department, members of the U.S. Army, Spectrum Designs Foundation and more.

Several talented young people even put on a show by leaping through the air to break wooden boards with their feet.

The usual Pride in Port "family fun day" was not held this year due to construction.
THe Port Washington Fire Medics were named the grand marshal for the parade, while six former Paul D. Schreiber High School student-athletes were inducted into the hall of Fame:

• Lisa Vogeley (2003)
• Katharine Zebroski Boiko (2002)
• Megan Zebroski (2004)

The late Martha Knowles was also named this year's Pride in Port Dinner Dance Community Honoree.
