Free Legal Assistance to Be Offered in Port Washington Next Month
Residents will receive advice regarding domestic violence, housing, family law, credit issues and more.

Residents will be provided free assistance on many legal issues such as domestic violence and housing at a program in Port Washington next month.
The program, sponsored by Senator Jack M. Martins, will bring the Mobile Legal Help Center to the Port Washington Library, located at 1 Library Drive, on Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Mobile Legal Help Center, which is a partnership between the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and the New York State Office of Court Administration, will offer free, civil legal services to residents in need related to the following issues:

- Family law
- Healthcare and disability benefits
- Housing (tenants only)
- Identity theft and consumer credit issues
- Advanced planning
Those looking to attend should bring any related documents that may be useful to the NYLAG staff in providing assistance. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins will be accepted and served as time permits.
