Red Cross to Install Free Smoke Alarms in Port Washington
Port Washington Crisis Relief Team and Red Cross volunteers will install free smoke detectors on Saturday.
On Saturday, June 25, 2016, Port Washington Crisis Relief Team and Red Cross volunteers will be fanning out across our neighborhood to install free smoke detectors and provide fire safety education as part of a national Home Fire Preparedness Campaign.
Home fires are the most common disaster across the country and as we have seen here in Port Washington, the impact is devastating. Red Cross launched this campaign in 2014 to reduce fire related deaths and injuries by 25% over the next five years and the Port Washington Crisis Relief Team is happy to partner with them in this life saving endeavor.
