Girls Basketball: Port Washington 2012 Preview
Experience should help Dennis Trottier and Vikings make playoff run.
With no seniors graduating from last season's girls basketball team, expect to see all of the same players on the court this season in Conference AA-II play. The team is aiming to go to the playoffs and will also be heading to Disney World this year.
The Schreiber girls basketball team is going to play a three-game tournament in Walt Disney World over the holiday break in addition to their regular season games, which began on Dec. 16 against East Meadow away.
"We're very excited," Coach Dennis Trottier said. "The fundraising process started two years ago and the time is here."

Top players: Senior captain Hayley Kerr made All-Class honors last season and fellow captain Emily Rosenthal received All-Conference honors.
"Both could have a fantastic season," Trottier said.
Position breakdown: Rosenthal is the team's shooting guard and Kerr is a forward.
"Small forward Nicole Alechman, point guard Christina Leonard and forward Ali Seltzer have all made big improvements during the off season," Trottier said.
Comig off the bench, look for guard Megan Murphy and guard/forward Natalie Ledwitz this season.
Expectations: Trottier and his team have their eyes on the playoffs.
"I expect us to play as hard as possible and give 110 percent effort at all times," he said.
