Gold Coast Takes Steps for Crohn's and Colitis
A Port Washington teen was honored as the walk's 2015 Shining Star Honored Hero.
Hundreds of people came together to raise awareness of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America in the inaugural Gold Coast Take Steps Walk on Sunday.
Participants attended the 3-mile long walk, which started at the Americana Mall and continued eastbound on Northern Boulevard to the Wheatley Plaza in Greenvale.
Among the people in attendance was 17-year-old Port Washington resident Tracy Naschek.

Tracy, who has Crohn’s, was honored as the walk’s 2015 Shining Star Honored Hero for her dedication to raising funds for CCFA. Read more about Tracy here.
The walk helped raise awareness of the CCFA’s mission to fund research for a cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to provide education and support for the estimated 40,000 patients and their families who are our friends, neighbors and colleagues on Long Island.
