Group to Hold Anti-Trump Vigil in Port Washington
Anyone who wishes to help denounce Trump's campaign is invited to attend.

Members of the community are invited to join a social justice organization in protesting Donald Trump and his political campaign with a vigil in Port Washington on Tuesday, June 21 as part of a national Jewish-led day of action.
Bend the Arc Jewish Action, the nation’s leading Jewish social justice organization, says they are holding many vigils across the country to voice opposition against Trump’s presidential campaign as well as his anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant, anti-woman and violent agenda.
Other vigils will take place in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago Raleigh and Washington, D.C., and are expected to attract thousands of people.

“Donald Trump has put forth a terrifying anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant, anti-woman and violent agenda,” Stosh Cotler, CEO of Bend the Arc Jewish Action, said in a press release. “Jews have seen this before. Many of our relatives fled to the United States to escape violence and discrimination from around the world. Now, we are joining together to fight for a better country in this generation, and to deliver a clear message: Donald Trump will not become president of the United States on our watch.”
June 21 will also mark the anniversary of when two white Jewish activists, Andrew Goodman and Mickey Schwerner, along with Black Christian activist James Chaney, were murdered in Mississippi for their work to register black voters in 1964. The organization hopes that working to stop Trump’s campaign will honor the legacy of these civil rights heroes and carry on their fight against violence and oppression on America.
