Happiness Group Selected as Semifinalist for Lippman Kanfer Prize
The Community Synagogue of Port Washington's group could be awarded up to $18,000.
The Community Synagogue of Port Washington’s Happiness Group has been selected as a semi-finalist for the Lippman Kanfer prize in Applied Jewish Wisdom.
This inaugural prize will be given to six winners. Out of the three chosen in two categories (Local/Regional and National/International), one winner will receive an $18,00 award and two runner-ups will each receive a $6,000 award.
"We have been awed by the submissions we received for the inaugural Lippman Kanfer Prize for Applied Jewish Wisdom and are delighted by the variety and quality of our Semifinalist pool," Jonathan Woocher, President of Lippman Kanfer Foundation for Living Torah, said in a press release. "We are proud to showcase the work being done by these organizations, which clearly testifies to the vibrancy of American Jewish life today.”

The Lippman Kanfer Prize for Applied Jewish Wisdom encourages, recognizes and rewards programs that highlight Jewish wisdom in creative and impactful ways.
Finalists will be selected in October and prizes will be awarded at a ceremony in December.

The Happiness Group and Mission looks for community members to experience happiness by allowing Jewish wisdom and practices to enrich their lives. The group uses Jewish insights to provide opportunities to explore gratitude, meaning, and purpose in their lives through activities like High Holy Day sermons and yoga services.
