HEARTS' PortFest -Saturday May 19th!! 11:00-4:00

On May 19th, Port Washington will once again come together as a community that values creativity, self-expression, and the importance of quality creative arts education. HEARTS (Helping Enrich the Arts of Port Washington) seventh annual PortFest Music, Arts and Community Festival will take place on Saturday, May 19th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, rain or shine, on the Schreiber High School Campus at 101 Campus Drive in Port Washington, Long Island. Several of HEARTS 2017-18 grant recipients will be performing including performances from Curtain’s Up, Weber’s Woodwinds/Brass Ensemble, Schreiber Theater Company’s “The Little Mermaid”, The Port Summer Show’s “All Shook Up” and the High School Jazz Ensembles. Featured local bands will include Rock Steady, Stupid 7, and Joy.
There will be a variety fun and family-friendly interactive activities hosted by each of the Port Washington public schools and several local community organizations. Get your creativity on with hands-on creative experiences like “Make Your Own Slime”, “Body Art”, “Make Your Own Terrarium”, “Paint Your Own Maracas”, “Personalized Dog Tags”, “ Button Making” , “Make A Routine Clock” and much more!
Be sure to bring your appetite with Rosie’s Grilled Cheese Truck serving oozing specialties, while Delicacies Deli of Roslyn will be grilling burgers and BBQ. Local favorites, Yummy Gyro and Mole, Mole will be serving Greek and Mexican specialties. Ralph’s Ices will have refreshing Italian ices in their signature flavors and Mel’s Ice Cream Truck will be scooping ice cream cones!

Every year Olga Berest of Berest Dance Center choreographs and designs a fun, creative and inclusive dance experience for the PortFest crowd. This year, Olga Berest Dance Center will lead the crowd in salsa dancing. Be sure to catch this crowd favorite!

Admission to PortFest is FREE and there will be plenty of free parking throughout the surrounding area and at the Schreiber High School Campus at 101 Campus Drive in Port Washington, NY.
