HKNC hosting breakfast in Sands Point to kick-off awareness for Annual Helen's Run/Walk in April.

HKNC KICKS OFF THE NEW YEAR WITH A SPECIAL EVENT

The Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults (HKNC) is pleased to invite the members of the community to a complimentary KICK-OFF BREAKFAST on Friday, January 27, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Center’s headquarters at 141 Middle Neck Road, Sands Point. What are they “kicking off” you ask? Answer: HELEN’S RUN/WALK 2017 to be held in April!

At the Kick-Off Breakfast, guests will be able to enjoy a light breakfast while they learn more about Helen’s Run/Walk 2017. The agenda will include a video of a former HKNC student who has done several Ironman competitions, and an opportunity to register (including a $5 discount for adults 19 years of age and older) as a runner/walker for the April 23rd event. Special guest speaker, Sara Siskind, founder of Hands on Healthy and a certified nutritional health counselor, will share her latest tips on making healthy lifestyle choices so you can feel your best every day

For those unable to attend the Kick-Off Breakfast, there’s always the annual Helen’s Run/Walk 2017 which takes place on April 23, 2017! Helen's Run/Walk has been a regular fundraiser for HKNC since 1994 when it debuted as a walk only and 100 individuals participated. In 2013, an officially timed run component was added. Since then it has grown considerably and last year over 640 individuals participated in the event!
