Hometown Heroes Save Seniors in House Fire
Neighbors rescued seniors trapped in their home when a fire broke out in Manorhaven.
On Thursday June 18, a fire broke out at 18 Juniper Road in Manorhaven, NY. Two elderly residents were trapped on the second floor of the home, when Manorhaven residents Felipe Crespo and Jose Vicente heard of the situation. They entered the upper floor of the home and rescued the seniors by bringing them to safety before fire fighters arrived at the scene. Mayor Jim Avena will be presenting the gentlemen with a ‘Certificate of Heroism’ at the July 30 Board meeting.
