Jeremy Geller, Jonny Schechner Return to Dolphin Cafe Friday
The Port Washington natives perform with other local favorites.

Local talent returns to the Dolphin Cafe Friday when Port Washington natives Jeremy Geller and Jonny Schechner perform their cabaret, “Jeremy and Jonny Back At the Dolphin [because nobody else wants to hear us sing].”
Joining Schechner and Geller are Port Washington friends Julia Bain, Jess Block, and Reed Kalash.
“About a year-and-a-half ago we did a smaller show at Dolphin and were amazed by the positive response,” Geller said. “ The show took a lot of hard work to put together, but it was well worth the effort.”

Since graduating college, Geller is now actively pursued a theater career. In January he achieved a milestone, he said, by becoming a member of Actors Equity Association.
“I got my equity card working on the off-Broadway musical, “Disaster!,” he said. “It was a big accomplishment as now it allows me to work at a more professional level. It was a also incredibly gratifying to be recognized for my hard work and talent.”

Schechner said he is looking forward to performing with other Port Washington musicians.
“Last time we did a show, we just had piano, but this time we’re adding Jess Block on bass and Reed Kalash on drums,” Schechner noted. “They are fabulous musicians, and we’re so excited about them playing with us. They’re really fantastic! We’re also so excited that Port Washington Theater Star Julia Bain is going to join us.”
Port Washington classical music and theater aficionados will remember Bain from performances in nearly every Port Washington production of the last four years. Bain is now studying musical theater at the BFA program at Ithaca College.
“Jeremy and I are actually intimidated by Julia’s talent,” Schechner said. “ But we’re not telling her that.”
The performance begins at 7 p.m. until about 9 p.m., including an intermission. The performance is free.
“I’m so excited about this show. It’s more than just singing, it’s also comedy, you’ll learn about me, Jonny, Julia, the band and you’ll have a great time,” Geller said. “Please join us.”
