NORTH HILLS, NY — A crash on the eastbound lanes of the Long Island Island Expressway on Friday evening snarled traffic, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. Friday between Exit 35 for Shelter Rock Road and Exit 36 for Searingtown Road. The left shoulder remained blocked around 5:30 p.m.
