The music of Mozart, Beethoven and Joplin resonated throughout historic Hempstead House from the Chamber Players International recently for an engaging Sunday afternoon of music.

With the Winter Living Room as backdrop, this talented trio performed Mozart’s radiant Piano Trio in C major K 548 (1788), Beethoven’s mesmerizing Archduke Trio in Bb, Op 97 (1810) and a medley of delightful Joplin pieces written in the same era that Hempstead House was built.

This three-part performance was, as Chamber Players International’s Executive and Artistic Director David Winkler described, akin to a richly satisfying three-course meal.

Cellist Adrian Daurov, violinist Bela Horvath and pianist and composer Yoni Levyatov showed their musicality, responding to each other seamlessly throughout the program. The afternoon brought a chance to experience music flawlessly performed in the style famously enjoyed by Daniel and Florence Guggenheim, who lived and entertained lavishly in Hempstead House. After the performance, audience members enjoyed a reception with the artists in the Summer Living Room.
