N. Hempstead Employee Honored for Running 50 Miles to Help Vets
Freddy Rodriguez ran from New York City to Ronkonkoma for a good cause.

A Town of North Hempstead employee was recently honored for running 50 miles across Long Island to raise funds for veterans.
Freddy Rodriguez, of Carle Place, began his race June 24 at 7 p.m. in New York City and arrived in Ronkonkoma at 8 a.m.
He then participated in a four-mile race in honor of Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy. He helped raise $1,600 that went towards the Lt. Michael Murphy Scholarship Foundation, Special Ops Warrior Fund and the Lone Survivor Foundation. He was joined on this run by Eva Casale, Ron Hurtado, and Billy Richards.

North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Council Member Lee Seeman and Town officials presented Rodriguez a plaque for his tremendous feat.
