PORT WASHINGTON, NY — A flagpole was donated to the Port Washington Athletics Department by the Harvey Lewis Foundation, the school district announced. The flagpole was installed earlier in May.

The Harvey Lewis Foundation was posthumously established in honor of Harvey "Dick" Lewis, a well-known resident of Port Washington who loved the community dearly, according to the school district. Its goal is to give back to the town that meant so much to him.

"This generous donation is a testament to the foundation's commitment to supporting the local community," the school district wrote.
