North Hempstead 10th Annual Asian-American Festival Information
The event, which celebrates Asian Heritage Month, runs from 12-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.
PORT WASHINGTON, NY--North Hempstead's 10th Annual Asian-American Festival will be held Saturday, May 18. The event is being held in conjunction with Asian Heritage Month to celebrate the growing diversity in North Hempstead's population.
The food will consist of ethnic cuisine from China, India, Japan, Pakistan and Korea. Festival-goers can partake in various cultural activities. The entertainment will come in the form of stage performances and live music from bands from around the world. The entertainers include:
- Acrobatic show and Dragon Ribbon Dance (China)
- Korean Pop Performance (Korea)
- Buyo/Japanese Traditional Dance (Japan)
- Musical presentation by the Children of PACOLI (Pakistan)
- Rajasthan Spring Dance (India)
Hundreds of town residents are projected to show up. The festival kicks off at 12 p.m. and runs until 5 p.m. The opening ceremony on-stage will take place at 1 p.m. The festival is located at North Hempstead Beach Park at 175 West Shore Road, Port Washington.
