Northwell Health's First 2020 Baby Is Born

Natalia Sofia Adrian-Delahoz was born on New Year's Day at Katz Women's Hospital at North Shore University Hospital ​at 12:06:20 a.m.

MANHASSET, NY - Northwell Health's first baby of 2020 has officially arrived. Giselle Delahoz, 33, a biologist, and Jose Francisco Adrian, 34, a chemical engineer, who live in East Rockaway, gave birth to an adorable baby girl.

Natalia Sofia Adrian-Delahoz was born on New Year's Day at Katz Women’s Hospital at North Shore University Hospital at 12:06:20 a.m. weighing a little over six pounds and 20.5 inches long.

Twenty doctors, nurses and staff helped welcome Natalia into the world.

"We always wanted to have a child, and the birth of my daughter is the best gift we could have ever received," said Adrian. “It’s hard to explain, but when she grabbed my finger for the first time, there is no better feeling."

The staff put the ball drop on the TV in the room and wished the family a happy new year, adorned with New Year’s party hats, festive necklaces.

“Once the ball dropped, the nurses turned to me and said ‘Happy New Year, now push,” and push I did,” joked Mrs. Delahoz. “I am very grateful for all of the doctors and nurses who helped me through it all and gave me the strength."

Staff and the happy family cheered with sparking grape juice last night in a toast to Baby Natalia and the New Year.
