Novelist Alice Hoffman Joins FOL Book & Author Luncheon May 12
Hoffman replaces Anita Shreve, who has canceled her book tour due to illness

Bestselling novelist Alice Hoffman will be one of the featured authors at the Friends of the Library’s 48th Annual Book & Author Luncheon on Friday May 12, replacing Anita Shreve, who has cancelled her book tour due to a medical emergency. Hoffman will discuss her newest novel Faithful (Simon & Schuster, 2016), a soul-searching story about a young woman struggling to redefine herself and the power of love, family, and fate. Hoffman is happy to return to the Luncheon, where she was a featured speaker in 2007.
Hoffman joins Yale University historian Paul Freedman, who will discuss his acclaimed Ten Restaurants That Changed America. Port’s own bestselling novelist Susan Isaacs returns as program moderator.
The Luncheon will be held at the North Hills Country Club in Manhasset from 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $75.
