Police: Unfounded Report of Hostage Situation at Garden City Park Home
Authorities swarmed to a home Tuesday afternoon, but officers were able to make contact with the residents, who safely exited the home.

Everyone is safe and police are attempting to determine who made a 911 call Tuesday afternoon reporting a hostage situation at a Garden City Park home.
Police rushed to a home on First Place after a came in around 12:30 p.m. reporting that an individual was holding people hostage at the home.
Upon arrival, police requested the assistance of the Nassau County Police Bureau of Special Operations Unit as well as the Emergency Service Unit. The officers’ were able to make contact with the residents, who then exited the home without incident, police said.

A search of the home turned up empty.
“Nobody was in any danger and there were no weapons found,” Det. Sgt. Richard LeBrun said, according to Newsday.

Police determined that all of the occupants of the home were safe and that there was no threat to neighbors at any time. The investigation is continuing and police are investigating the origin of the call.
