Port Washington FD Members Recognized for Longtime Service
The men have dedicated their lives to helping the community for 50 and 25 years, respectively.

Two members of the Port Washington Fire Department’s Atlantic Hook & Ladder Company No. 1 were recently recognized for their longtime dedicated service.
Ex-captain and trustee Charles Cella and captain and ex-president Patrick Saccoccia were honored by the department and local officials for providing the community with 50 and 25 years of dedicated service, respectively.
“It takes a special person to be willing to make the sacrifices needed to be a volunteer firefighter, which is why every one of them deserves our respect and gratitude,” Senator Jack Martins said in a press release. “It takes an extraordinary person to devote decades of their life to that worthy cause. Thank you to Charles Cella and Patrick Saccoccia for their many years of brave and selfless service to the residents of Port Washington.”
