Port Washington Firefighters Recognized for Longtime Service

Together, Ron Henderson, Thomas Tobin and Donald Reese have served the department for 125 years.

Three members of the Port Washington Fire Department were recently honored for their longtime dedication to the community.

Together, Ron Henderson, Thomas Tobin and Donald Reese have served the department for 125 years.

  • Henderson— 50 years of service
  • Tobin— 50 years of service
  • Reese— 25 years of service

Legislative resolutions were recently passed by the New York State Senate, which allows the three Port Washington firefighters to have their contributions to the community be part of the Senate’s official record forever.

“All volunteer firefighters deserve our respect and gratitude, but these three men deserve special recognition for their decades of community service,” Senator Jack Martins said.

Martins honored the three men and sponsored the legislative resolutions that were recently passed. “Thank you to Ron, Thomas and Donald for their many years of brave and selfless service to the residents of Port Washington,” he said.
