Port Washington Seniors Won't Be Scammed

Financial experts and members of law enforcement recently spoke to seniors in Port Washington about the dangers of financial exploitation.
The seminar educated seniors about the prevalence of scammers who try to steal money from the elderly. The program featured attorneys and medicare specialists in addition to financial experts and law enforcement professionals.

The event is part of a series of seminars held by North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Project SAFE (Seniors Against Financial Exploitation). The seminar was held in conjunction with the Town’s aging-in-place initiative, Project Independence, which educates seniors about scammers who try to part seniors and their money.
The seminar was held at Landmark on Main Street on Wednesday, April 22.

The next Project SAFE seminar will be held on Wednesday, May 13 at 2 p.m. at the Landmark on Main Street.
