Port Washington Sobriety Checkpoint Proves Successful
Two people were arrested for DWI during the Sobriety Checkpoint.

A Port Washington Sobriety Checkpoint resulted in two people being arrested for DWI on Friday, June 19.
Deputy Chief Robert Del Muro considered the Sobriety Checkpoint a success.
“We continue to remind motorists about the dangers and possible consequences of Driving While Intoxicated,” he said.

Several hundred Drive Safe / Drive Sober safety pamphlets were also distributed to drivers during the checkpoint, which was conducted by Port Washington Police Officers and New York State Troopers from Troop L in Lake Success.
The checkpoint was held on on Port Washington Boulevard between Campus Drive and Maple Street from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The Checkpoint was funded by a Nassau County Traffic Safety STOP-DWI grant.
