Port Washington Water District Issues 2018 Water Quality Report

Report Reveals Consistent High-Quality Water Delivered to Residents

Port Washington, NY (April xx, 2019) – The Port Washington Water District (PWWD) recently completed its annual Drinking Water Quality Report which concluded that Port Washington residents once again continued to receive high-quality drinking water to their homes. The valuable and informational report is currently made available on the District’s website, and is being mailed to the 30,000 residents served by the District in Port Washington, the villages of Port Washington North, Manorhaven, Baxter Estates, Flower Hill and Plandome Manor and portions of Manhasset.

“The Port Washington Water District prides itself on supplying our customers with water that routinely meets or surpasses all water quality guidelines,” stated David Brackett, chairman of the Port Washington Water District’s Board of Commissioners. “As residents with families who all live in this area, we take our oath to serve and protect the community’s water supply seriously and will continue our dedication to delivering dependable drinking water and producing the highest level of transparency with this annual report.”

The Port Washington Water District’s annual Drinking Water Quality Report report provides a detailed account of the services and the regular testing the water district performs—with more than 13,300 tests performed each year to safeguard the integrity of the community’s vital drinking water supply. Throughout the year, these water samples are collectively analyzed for more than 140 different parameters. The District is encouraged that these tests, which are also performed by a third-party testing facility and validated with the Nassau County Department of Health, repeatedly confirm that the water being delivered to homes and businesses meets and surpasses all drinking water standards currently established by federal, state and local regulators.
