Port Washington Welcomes New Teachers
The district has nearly 35 new teachers, school officials said.

With a new school year in motion, the Port Washington School District held its annual new teacher orientation on Aug. 26 and 27 in the Paul D. Schreiber High School library, where administrators and staff welcomed approximately 35 new teachers.
New staff became acquainted with one another and met administrators over the course of the orientation while receiving an overview of the district’s curriculum, technology program and policies and procedures. The new teachers also participated in a bus tour of the school district.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kathleen Mooney congratulated the teachers on their new roles as educational leaders, and said she remains confident that they will contribute to the tradition of student-centered education.
“We offer many opportunities for you to develop as professionals,” she said. “You are in an excellent school district — you are part of a wonderful community.”
