Reach Out America presents, "Politics and People" with speaker Jon Cooper on Wednesday, Feb. 10th at Unitarian Universalist Congregation.

Reach Out America on Politics and People

Politics is in the air and on the air 24/7. Reach Out America is inviting members of the North Shore community to hear an insider’s views on the upcoming elections and the many candidates who are competing for the highest office in the land. Jon Cooper, a Long Island entrepreneur who has served as Democratic majority leader in the Suffolk County Legislature. He made headlines in 2008 when he became the first elected official on Long Island to throw his support to a long shot Illinois Senator running for president named Barack Obama. He became the Long Island chairman for Obama’s 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns and had a seat on Obama’s finance committee. Last year he become finance chairman of the “Draft Joe Biden” 2016 committee. He remains active in Long Island politics and will share his views on what it takes to wage a successful campaign on both local and national levels. A question and answer period will follow his presentation. Wednesday, February 10th at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock, 48 Shelter Rock Rd. in Manhasset at 2 pm. Prior to the guest speaker at 12:30, Reach Out America’s Committee reports and ongoing actions on local and national issues will be on the agenda. All are invited.
