
Registration for PYA’s 2014 fall sports activities and programs is already underway
The following programs are available for fall:
- PYA will conduct its Midget Football for boys in grades 4 and 5 in Port Washington and Manhasset. Those grades will play in the Junior Division. The program also features Developmental/Intramural Flag Football for boys Grades 2nd and 3rd. The Junior Division (Grades 4 and 5) practices begin at Lions Field on Saturday, September 6 from 10AM to Noon, and Sunday, September 7 from 2PM to 4PM. Developmental Flag Football (Grades 2nd and 3rd) practices begin on Sunday September 7 from 1 PM to 3 PM. The registration fee is $195 for Junior Division Football and $175 for Developmental Football.
- The Midget Football Senior Division (Grades 6 and 7) is considering whether to field intramural teams or a single travel team. A decision will be made based on interest in the program and the level of participation.
- Boys Fall Lacrosse for Grades 1 through 6 begins Thursday, September 4. Girls Fall Lacrosse for Grades 1 through 6 begins Monday, September 8. The registration fee is $150 for each group.
- Girls Field Hockey for Grades 1 through 6 begins Friday, September 5 and will run from 4:30PM to 6PM on Friday afternoons through October 25. The registration fee is $125.
- Fall Baseball returns with the Instructional program (Grades K through 2) starting on Saturday, September 6. The registration fee is $125. Intramural Baseball for boys (minor and major leagues in grades 3 through 7) will also begin on September 6. That registration fee is $150.
- Girls Softball grades K through 2 (Saturdays 10:30 to 11:45 AM) and Girls Softball Minor and Major Leagues Grades 3 through 7 (Saturdays 9 AM to 10:30 AM) begins Saturday, September 6 as well. The fee is $125 for grades K through 2, and $150 for Grades 3 through 7.
- The PYA Fall Tennis program runs during the month of October on each Thursday afternoon. It takes place indoors at the Port Washington Tennis Academy on Harbor Road, and serves 8 to 10 year olds. The registration fee is $95. Participation is limited to 16 players with 2 alternates, and selections will be made by lottery.
- A comprehensive application for all the sports, with all the details including deadline information, can be picked up at Arena Sports at 52 Main Street, Gail’s Shoes at 9 Main Street or online at www.pyasports.org (where you can also register and pay by credit card).
