Sand Miners Monument

Honoring 'The Unsung Heroes'

Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton was proud to attend a Columbus Day event at the Sand Miners Monument in Port Washington. She congratulated Jon Kaiman for seeing through this wonderful commemoration of Port history and thanked Leo Cimini and the board of directors for their hard work in making this happen.

Delia spoke at the event and thanked everyone for remembering some of "the unsung heroes" in our local history who worked so hard and may not otherwise be remembered.

Delia De Riggi-Whitton is serving her first term as Nassau County Legislator. Through redistricting, Delia will be the incumbent Legislator in a new 11th LD, which incorporates Port Washington, Roslyn, Roslyn Harbor, Sea Cliff and Glen Cove. She is getting to know this new district while serving Glen Cove, Sea Cliff, Bayville, Locust Valley, Brookville, Glen Head, Greenvale and Jericho.
