
Home sales in Sands Point in 2011 stayed the course year over year, according to a report. And in Port Washington, fewer homes were sold, yet those that did sell went for a price than was sought by the seller a year ago, according to that same study.
The report, by , was released Wednesday. DGSIR VP and sales manager Emma McMahon, spoke about the local market.
“It is very interesting that with the world surrounded by such uncertainty the statistics for the housing market in Sands Point remained remarkably stable,” McMahon, said in a statement. “In 2010 we closed 22 homes with an average sale price of $2,382,932 with days on the market being 183. In 2011 we closed 23 homes with an average sale price of $2,384, 667 and days on the market of 212.”

“In Port Washington we see decrease in the number of sales – from 146 in 2010 to 130 in 2011,” she stated. “The average price, however, went up from $710,128 in 2010 to $733,697 in 2011. Colonials remain the house of choice with 73 colonials sold in 2010 and 54 colonials sold in 2011.”
