Schimel, D'Urso to be honored at Golden Gala

The event supports the Port Washington Senior Citizens Center, which offers members life-enriching programs.

The Port Washington Senior Citizens Center will honor Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel and humanitarian Anthony D’Urso on Oct. 15 at the organization’s Golden Gala at the Port Washington Yacht Club from 6-10 p.m.

Both Schimel and D’Urso are being celebrated for their commitment to community.

Recently appointed to the Assembly leadership position of Chair of the Marjorty Conference, Shimel is recognized for advocating for senior citizens and veterans, preventing gun violence and protecting the environment, most notably water resources. Prior to her work in public service, Schimel was a physical therapist and wound care specialist.
