Schreiber High School Ranked Among Best in Nation

The Port Washington school received high marks from the Daily Beast and Newsweek.

The Daily Beast has ranked Paul D. Schreiber High School in the Port Washington School District 101st in the nation on its list of Top High Schools for 2014.

More than 700 high schools throughout the nation were selected based on six different indicators from surveys submitted to the publication, with a specific focus on graduation and college acceptance rates.

In past years, the Daily Beast has teamed up with Newsweek to compile the national rankings; however, this is the first year that The Daily Beast has provided its own list. The rankings break down its numbers on the strength of six criteria:

Graduation rate

AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student

Average SAT/ACT test scores

Average AP/IB/AICE test scores

Percentage of students enrolled in at least ONE AP/IB/AICE course
