SOUPer Bowl X Names Best Soup in Port Washington

Before the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons went head-to-head in Super Bowl, 16 local restaurants in Port Washington brewed their best soup recipes and competed against each other in the SOUPer Bowl on Saturday.

The event, organized by the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce, has become a premier foodie event in its 10th year.

Hundreds of people ready to taste test some soups gathered at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church. Those who came were offered samples of soups from some of Port Washington's best restaurants. Taste testers then filled out ballots to select the winner of the “People’s Choice Award.”

People’s Choice Winners

• First Place— potato soup from O’Hara’s Ale House and Grill
• Second Place— cauliflower soup from The Wild Goose
• Third Place— Cajun seafood chowder from f.i.s.h on main

The potato soup from O’Hara’s Ale House and Grill was not only the winner of the “People’s Choice Award” but it also won the “Judges’ Choice Award.”

• Third Place— seafood gumbo from Wild Honey
