Targeted Vandalism to Campaign Signs in Port Washington

Police are investigating the incident.

Port Washington Police received a report of criminal mischief to four campaign signs belonging to Port Washington Police Commissioner candidate Steve Kaplan on Saturday at 12:08 p.m.

Four of the six banners around town had Kaplan’s picture and the words “Steve” cut out.

Kaplan told Patch that banners from opponents in close proximity were not touched.

Police are investigating the incident and will be looking at camera recorded data.
