Girls Tennis Hope for Strong Season
Port Washington's girls tennis team looks to be one of top four teams in Conference 1 Playoffs.
The Port Washington girls tennis team returns eight starters from last years squad.
That experience should help them reach their goal of making the four team playoff in a very competitive Conference One.
"We are hoping to have a very good team this year," said Head Coach Stan Makover. "We return eight starters so that bodes well for us in a tough Conference One where every match will be competitive."

Expectations:
The Vikings look to keep pace with Syosset this season. Syosset is expected to be the top team in the Conference with their returning talent.
Conference One, the highest ranked conference, bases their members on ability and Port Washington looks to be right in the mix.
"By the end of the season I believe we should be one of the top four teams in the playoffs and make a run at the county championship," Makover said.
"We have some good players in the singles spots and some talented girls playing doubles for us."
The Vikings got off to a good start on Tuesday beating Oceanside 6-1 in an out of conference matchup.
"It's good to get a win under our belt before we jump into the conference schedule," Makover said.
The Vikings will kick things off on Thursday playing a home match against Garden City to open the conference schedule.
