Time Travelers - Family Tours at Hempstead House on Saturday
Programs at the original Guggenheim Estate, where membership helps protect the site's historic buildings and grounds.

Children ages 4 and up and their caregivers are invited to travel back in time on Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Hempstead House – the 1912 Tudor-style mansion graced with stained and leaded glass, sunken Palm Court, stone gargoyles and towers on Sands Point Preserve.
The program is held at the original Guggenheim Estate, where membership helps protect the site’s historic buildings and grounds.
This North Shore treasure was once the summer home of the Guggenheims, who made great contributions in the arts, business and philanthropy, and enjoyed the elegant Gold Coast lifestyle that was so prevalent in the 1920s.

Although Daniel and Florence Guggenheim’s three children did not grow up in the Hempstead House, children on the Time Traveler’s journey will enjoy a unique guided tour of at least 10 rooms in the historic building. The fun-filled adventure also includes activities and puzzles featuring timelines, maps, photographs, and even the movies filmed onsite.
The tour is $5 per person, with tour times set for 11 a.m., and 12, 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Pre-registration for this event is required. Email your name, preferred tour time and the number of adults and children (with their ages) to info@friendsspp.org. Note: all tours are sold out.
