Hate Crime Discussion At North Hempstead Town Hall Meeting

Residents are invited to learn about how local temples, schools or institutions can be made safer.

Town officials and members of the Nassau County Police Department will discuss the recent increase in hate crimes in the surrounding area at a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, March 23.

Officials will detail the department’s enhanced security and intensified patrols around all religious institutions and synagogues in light of the hate crimes and threats to Jewish temples, schools and other institutions.

The meeting kicks off at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, located at 220 Plandome Road in Manhasset.

Residents are invited to learn about the free security inspections offered by police and how your temple, school or institution can be made safer.

The Town Hall meeting will be hosted by Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Council Member Anna Kaplan and Council Member Lee Seeman. Community representatives from local religious institutions will also be in attendance.
