Town Announces Reopening Of Playgrounds

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board
have announced that playgrounds at Town parks have now reopened.

According to New York State guidelines, the Town has opened up playground facilities for use.
Playground equipment will be cleaned daily. Attendance will be monitored and hours of operation
may be adjusted according to help adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Town parks are open for passive use including the Town beaches at Manorhaven Beach Park and
North Hempstead Beach Park. Fees for beaches and parks have been waived for the summer due to
the pandemic. Additionally, beaches are presently operating at a 50% capacity and remain limited
to North Hempstead residents only.

The Town reminds residents to continue to maintain social distancing guidelines and stay six feet
apart. In addition, in accordance with New York State guidelines visitors should wear a mask when
outside to help maintain the health and safety of others.
