Truck vs. Bridge Causes Massive LIRR Delays

Commuters can expect Long Island Rail Road delays and cancellations during the afternoon rush home due to a truck striking a bridge in Queens earlier Tuesday, according to the LIRR.

A truck reportedly struck a LIRR bridge west of Woodside Station.

N. J. Burkett from WABC-TV tweeted that an inspection is required before tracks can reopen.

From LIRR on Twitter: All westbound service to Penn Station from Jamaica is suspended. NYC Transit cross-honoring fares. Port Washington service is not affected.

Expect lots of crowding and long delays up to an hour.
