Sporting “Vote411” custom masks, branded t-shirts and standing in front of “yarn bombed” signs, the League of Women Voters of Port Washington-Manhasset (LWV) and the Friends of the Port Washington Public Library (FOL) along with staff members from the Library provided help and assistance both virtually and in-person for first-time voters navigating the registration process. The volunteers offered answers regarding absentee ballot applications, early voting polling places and online voter registration from behind protective plexiglass barriers in front of the Library.

“We worked so well with each other and with members of the public who patiently waited for us to find the answers to their questions,” says Amy Bass, President of the Friends of the Port Washington Public Library and long-time board member of the League of Women Voters of PW-Manhasset.
