Young Models Auditioned for Sally Miller Fashion Show

The Dance Arts Centre in Port Washington hosted an audition today for young models who hope to walk the runway at the Sally Miller Fashion Show in Castle Gould at the Sands Point Preserve on Sunday, November 23, 2013, at 2:30 p.m.  This event is part of the upcoming Design Showhouse at Hempstead House, November 2 - 24, 2013 - it's the perfect girls day out: see the Showhouse, have lunch in the new Palm Court Cafe in Hempstead House, then watch the fashion show in Castle Gould's Great Hall!

This top girls' couture fashion designer is looking to recruit about 35 models who can present her latest designs in a fashion event that will raise needed funds for restoration projects at the Sands Point Preserve.

Jean-Marie Posner, Executive Director of the Friends of the Sands Point Preserve, and Bari Strachman, Director of Dance Arts Centre, coached the 25 young hopefuls in sample designer dresses - their photos will be forwarded to Sally Miller, and the models will be selected soon.

"This fashion show is an exciting community event," Ms. Strachman said, "and we are always very happy to be involved in benefit events.  I really enjoyed organizing today's audition."

According to Ms. Posner, "Friends of the Sands Point Preserve is delighted to host Sally Miller's show - we appreciate her involvement and support of our work at the Guggenheim Estate. All of the girls did a terrific job today, and we are looking forward to a great fashion show."

Tickets are $30 per adult; children are free when accompanied by paying adult.  For information and to purchase tickets, see www.thesandspointpreserve.com or call (516) 571-7901, email us at info@friendsspp.org, or visit the Gate House, open daily 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 127 Middle Neck Road, Sands Point, NY 11050.
