2 Teens Shot, 1 Killed, In Flatbush Shooting: Cops
17-year-old Derek Ticios was shot in the chest on East 26th Street. A 16-year-old boy was shot in the hand, police said.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn teenager was killed and another sent to the hospital after a daylight shooting on East 26th Street Wednesday, police said.
Cops found 17-year-old Derek Tiucios and the 16-year-old boy in front of a building on the corner of Newkirk Avenue shortly after 2:30 p.m., police said.
Tiucios had been shot in the chest and the 16-year-old was shot in the hand, according to police.

Emergency responders took both boys to Kings County Hospital, where Tiucios was pronounced dead. The 16-year-old is in stable condition, police said.
Police said the boys were shot when another person had tried to rob them, according to reports.

The shooting is the second time a teenager has been killed in the borough this week.
Another 16-year-old boy was fatally shot at the Kingsborough Houses on Tuesday.
There have been at least eight shootings in the borough in the last week as Brooklyn continues to deal with a months-long surge in gun violence. Four of the other shootings also killed young men.
