6 Shot, 1 Killed In Brooklyn Drive-By: Cops

A 23-year-old died and five others were injured after the shooting on Hawthorne Street last Wednesday, police said.

PROSPECT LEFFERTS GARDENS, BROOKLYN — One person is dead and another five wounded after a shooting on Hawthorne Street on Wednesday, police said.

Cops were called to the Hawthorne Street building, between Rogers and Nostrand avenues, just before 10:30 p.m., police said. They found six people had been shot.

The shooters had pulled up and opened fire into a crowd gathered on the block through the windows of a white sedan, cops told Fox 5.

A 23-year-old man, who had been shot in the chest, was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.

A 26-year-old man, a 29-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were each shot in the leg and taken to the hospital in stable condition. A 27-year-old man who was shot in the groin and a 28-year-old man who was grazed in the back were also both taken to the hospital in stable condition, police said.

There were no arrests in the shooting as of Thursday morning.

It was one of at least two shootings in Brooklyn on Wednesday night. In Bed-Stuy, a 28-year-old man was found shot and killed on Herkimer Street about an hour before the shooting in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.
